// the problem

Facet is an open source project that aims to help newsrooms plan and manage collaborative projects across different platforms with partners of various sizes and resources. It provides the space and shared resources for newsrooms to effectively collaborate and allows journalists to foster collaborative relationships. Facet is still in its beta stage, and our team helped the client with market research, UI//UX design and building a newsroom survey.

// the process

As one of the two lead designers of the UI/UX portion, I developed wireframes for the on-boarding and subscription processes. These were made after thorough market research, including looking at price models, platform features, messaging capabilities, mission-based platforms/features of competitors. Based on business models of existing, successful platforms, as well as common features, we decided on a subscription model that would work best for Facet.

// the solution

The final wireframes included: a sign-up page, a basic profile page, a subscription plan picking page, an option to invite co-workers and a billing information page. Wireframes for the subscription management pages were also made, from both the side of the user as well as the side of Facet.
